K-Pop prodigies ‘STAYC’ return to LA for their ‘STAY TUNED’ world tour, delivering an unforgettable experience for their fans, SWITHS. The show opened with the hit song ‘BEBE’, highlighting rhinestone outfits from the members and a glimmering performance. With the crowd feeling energetic, the members surprised fans with a live band intro featuring dynamic poses in their song ‘1 Thing’. YOON caught the attention of the crowd with her exciting dance break and iconic hair flip.
As the night went on, the group performed one of their well-known hits ‘POPPY’. Garnering major attention on social media, the crowd danced and sang along with STAYC as they chanted their catchphrase, “STAYC girls, it’s going down!”
The members interacted with SWITHS during the ment, with SIEUN remarking, “Long time no see LA. Show me what you got!” It has been a year since STAYC performed in LA since KCON 2024, and leader SUMIN expresses that she “missed all of [the fans] so much!” With loud cheers and sentimentality from the crowd, the group segues into their next hit ‘BEAUTIFUL MONSTER’. This performance showcased a shift from STAYC’s usual bright and colorful sound to a more somber and passionate feel. In their next song ‘Cheeky Icy Thang’, STAYC showed off their extraordinary dance moves before transitioning into their VCR video.
The next set highlighted the talents of the individual members with subunit performances. Kicking off with ‘Find’ featuring SIEUN, SEEUN, and J, the trio’s mesmerizing vocals soothed the audience and gave an unforgettable experience to fans. In ‘Roses’, ISA showcased a more mature concept with a stunning pink dress and roses in her hair. To the fans’ surprise, ISA used her hair as a focal point for the dance, demonstrating a very unique concept. Closing off the subunit performances, SUMIN and YOON performed the hit song ‘Fakin’. The duo starts off with an electrifying guitar opening accompanied by colorful vocals. SUMIN and YOON show off their dazzling dresses while meeting at center stage for a final dance performance. At the end of the set, the group joined together to sing their emotional song ‘YOUNG LUV’, demonstrating versatility and harmony whether within subunits or as a whole group.
Feeling the LA spirit, the members mention how they want to try many things during their stay in LA. SIEUN talked about her interest in iconic destinations like Six Flags or the Getty Museum. YOON also added on to this sentiment saying she has always wanted to visit Santa Monica and try the well-renowned fast food chain, Jollibee. Sadly, the members were not able to visit many places during their previous stay in LA, but they remark that they will be sure to visit this time around.
The show continued with fan favorite songs like ‘Beauty Bomb’ and ‘Meant to Be’, warming SWITH’s hearts with b-side tracks from recent releases. Continuing on this trend of latest releases, STAYC performed their most recent title track ‘I WANT IT’, hyping up the crowd with iconic lines from the song.
During their performances of ‘BUBBLE’ and ‘Trouble Maker’, the STAYC girls showed fans a brighter concept with colorful dresses and bubble blowers. The ambience created by the bubbles was very fitting to the song choice and created the perfect mood for fans to enjoy.
‘Twenty’ and ‘GPT’ allowed for more fan interaction, with the group going to the end of the stage to interact with SWITH. These vocal-focused songs created a sentimental environment for STAYC members and the fans.
The next set featured some of STAYC’s older title tracks, but still timeless nonetheless. ‘STEREOTYPE’ seemed to be a fan favorite with the fans singing along to every lyric and of course, chanting the iconic “STAYC girls, it’s going down!” ‘RUN2U’ also had fans singing along and even showing off their rapping skills while J sang her classic “JJ” line. ‘ASAP’ continued this exhilarating energy being one of STAYC’s most popular songs. With the dance going viral on social media back in 2021, it is no surprise that SWITHs knew every dance move. ISA switched it up during this song however and surprised fans with a solo dance that all the members had to copy. SEEUN stood out with her infectious smile and eye-catching dancing during ‘TEDDY BEAR’, which is another smash-hit from the group. J also had a highlighting moment during her rap verse, expressing a cool demeanor as the group’s maknae.
The group brought fans back to early STAYC days with their debut song ‘SO BAD’. The audience felt the emotion of the performance, feeling proud of how far STAYC has come since debut. It is really symbolic that STAYC’s first song of their career was the last song of their show in LA, but the fan’s energy brought the members back on stage for an encore.
Dressed in their tour merch and matching denim bottoms, STAYC surprised fans with a performance of ‘Gummy Bear’ for their encore song. The energy from the fans empowered the group to run up and down the aisles, providing for plenty of interactions with the members before they had to depart.
In the ending ment, the STAYC members reminisce on how much they have grown as artists from their previous show until now. SIEUN highlights how meaningful it is that the group “covered Party in the USA 2 years ago, and LA was the last stop of [their] US tour”. She thanked the fans for showing up to their previous show and reassured that this was not the last time the group will be in LA. With a bittersweet feeling from both the members and fans alike, STAYC wrapped up their ‘STAY TUNED’ world tour in LA.
Overall, an exhilarating performance from STAYC! I felt the nostalgic energy from older songs like ‘SO BAD’ and was amazed to see such versatility in the various subunit performances. I can’t wait for STAYC’s return, and we will definitely ‘STAY TUNED’ for when that day comes.
