On a buzzing night in downtown Los Angeles, Japanese seven-member powerhouse BE:FIRST lit up The Novo with their first solo performance in the U.S., marking the kickoff of their highly anticipated world tour. Formed under BMSG and the creative vision of artist-producer SKY-HI, BE:FIRST continues to redefine J-pop with their genre-blending mix of hip-hop, R&B, and next-level choreography.

The group stormed the stage with the explosive "Mainstream", accompanied by strobe lights and cinematic opening music that sent BESTY (the group’s devoted fanbase) into a frenzy from the very first beat. Dressed in sporty streetwear, the members delivered razor-sharp rap verses and synchronized moves that hit each beat with pinpoint precision.

Things took a darker turn with "Spacecraft," a rock-infused anthem enhanced by moody lighting and a powerful dance break. Lyrics like “race through today,” suited the intense atmosphere as the group charged full-speed into a high-energy packed setlist.

Tracks like "Boom Boom Back" and "Milli Billi" brought a groovy air to the night, blending slick rap with infectious hooks. “Milli Billi” turned into a full-on hype session, with the crowd clapping and singing as the members showcased their impressive dance skills with a stomp dance break.

Mid-show breaks brought laughter and warmth. The members shared snippets of their L.A. adventures, from exploring Disneyland, attending Coachella to seeing baseball games at Dodgers Stadium, enthusiastically declaring that “Ohtani-san is GOAT.” RYOKI also celebrated an early birthday with fans singing to him before the other members teased and surprised him by bringing out SOTA as his “gift.” RYOKI then helped SHUNTO practice English with a shy and endearing, “Let’s go for dinner.”

In one of the night’s more intimate moments, JUNON, LEO, MANATO, and RYUHEI performed their unit song "Softly," an ethereal R&B ballad backed by mic stand choreography and the soothing sound of rain. The smooth transition into "SOS" with all of the members showcased popping and glitch effect dances layered over mellow beats and soulful vocals.

Next, a standout rap unit moment followed with "Spin!", where members RYOKI, SHUNTO, and SOTA traded rapid-fire verses in front of a racing car visual. The show then kicked into overdrive with "Masterplan" and "Scream," fearing intricate tutting and popping choreography, and enthusiastic audience call-and-response. “Left side, I want to hear you scream! Right side, I want to hear you scream!” echoed through the venue.

As the night neared its end, BE:FIRST brought out the upbeat house-electronic track, "Don’t Wake Me Up", which MANATO revealed is one of his personal favorites. They followed with fan-favorites "Shining One" and "Sailing", both bright and energetic songs that featured translated lyrics on the screen, giving fans an opportunity to connect with the messages behind the music further.

The final set began with "Bye-Good-Bye", a groovy and heartful celebration full of freestyle dancing and rich vocals. JUNON introduced the emotional closer, “Blissful,” thanking fans for “an amazing night” and inciting everyone to join in to sing along. His soaring high notes and the crowd’s collecting “oohoohoooh” along with the members brought a euphoric close to the show with heartfelt lyrics like “We’ll be fine, let’s take off, I feel so blissful.” Despite the show seemingly ending, BE:FIRST members came back out onto the stage for their very first encore ever, and delivered exceptional energy for one more song, “Slogan.”

BE:FIRST’s first world tour was an exciting, joyful night that showcased their musical range and stage presence. The group brought genuine charm, undeniable talent, and crowd-matching energy from start to finish. The rest of the tour is bound to be unforgettable for BESTY and we cannot wait to see what the group has in store next.
