As a member of MAMAMOO, a prominent K-pop girl group, Whee In has distinguished herself as an astounding vocalist and performer. She was the first MAMAMOO member to debut as a soloist in 2018, and has continued to garner an extensive discography. Whee In has embarked on her first solo world tour, titled 'WHEE IN THE MOOD [BEYOND],' a clever nod to her albums "WHEE" and "IN the Mood."
‘WHEE IN THE MOOD [BEYOND]’ began in Seoul, South Korea, and continued to the United States where her eleventh concert was held in Los Angeles. For Whee In, the Los Angeles performance held profound significance for being nostalgic. It reminded her of her cherished memories from her previous visit with MAMAMOO a year prior. Sharing a TMI (too much information) she recreated a photograph she had taken in LA in 2015, which she shared on an Instagram post (@whee_inthemood). Initially, Whee In was nervous about performing on her own for the first time, but she found comfort in the overwhelming passion and cheers from her LA fans. She went on to perform hits such as 'I Know I Know I Know (Beyond),' 'TRASH,' and '17 (Feat. HWASA)’. She even unveiled an unreleased track, revealing a more daring, sensual side of her, which could only be experienced by watching the show.
In addition to her captivating performances, Whee In offered glimpses into her personal preferences through cute video clips (VCRs). One VCR featured a lighthearted mini-interview conducted during a photoshoot, where she deliberated between various options (e.g., soju or beer, dressed up or casual), endearing herself to the audience with her charismatic charm.
Fans of Whee In must have left the show feeling closer to their idol since this was one of the most personable shows we have attended. She even went so far as to have her makeup and mic fixed on stage to spend more time with the audience. Not only do her talents shine through this world tour, but her lovable personality as well.
